Have we turned a corner? Tackle imports in the third quarter of 2009 increased over the third quarter of 2008. This is the first quarterly increase since the fourth quarter of 2007. The dollar value of fishing tackle imports in the third quarter of 2009 were $107.3 million. Increases were driven by fishing reels. Some categories such as hooks still showed decreases.
