What is AnglerSurvey.com?
www.AnglerSurvey.com tracks consumer fishing and purchasing activities by month. Data are collected via an online panel. The results are scientifically weighted to reflect all U.S. anglers. The results are used by industry and fisheries agencies to better understand the industry and trends, improve product offerings and the overall angling experience. Companies and fisheries agencies interested in obtaining results should contact Southwick Associates.

Information includes:

  • Species targeted in the past month
  • Market share by brand for 34 categories of fishing tackle
  • Types of fishing activity engaged
  • Percentage of sales by retail segment (independent retailers, chains, catalog, used, and other)

Retailer Brands Compared to Manufacturer Brands
Sales of products provided under retailer-owned brands have been growing. This monthly index reports the percentage of angler purchases comprised of retailer brands as reported monthly by AnglerSurvey.
