National Fishing & Boating Week 2005 Highlights
Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation
According to the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF), National
Fishing and Boating Week 2005 was a success.
Honorary Chairman and actor, Dean Cain, garnered significant media coverage
and many fishing and boating events throughout the United States also received
coverage. Cain conducted a media tour in New York City prior to the start
of NFBW to spread the message that fishing is a key activity for children
and that many communities were hosting fishing events during National Fishing
and Boating Week.
State and local event listings on www.takemefishing.org dramatically increased
over previous years, with over 1,300 events registered as taking place
during NFBW.
Highlights of Cain’s media tour include interviews with:
•
Fox News Channel’s “Fox
and Friends”
• MSNBC’s “MSNBC
Live”
• Fox News Channel’s “Dayside
with Linda Vester”
• ESPN’s “Cold
Pizza”
• WPIX’s “WB
Morning Show”
• Field and Stream Radio
An audio news release with Cain ran in major markets including New York,
Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Washington, Seattle and San Francisco.
A compilation of Cain’s interviews is viewable on RBFF’s Web
site, www.rbff.org, by clicking on the Press Room.
In addition to Cain, Bruce Matthews, RBFF president, conducted a radio media
tour with interviews on 20 news radio stations in the top 25 U.S. markets.
RBFF also produced and distributed a video news release with tips on “how
to take a kid fishing” with TV host and international angler and guide
Cindy Garrison and Richard Louv, author of Last Child
