ASA Rolls Out All-New Member Benefits Package

The American Sportfishing Association is rolling out a variety of discount packages on products and services ranging from special deals on insurance and travel to shipping and banking, offering significant new savings and conveniences for its 500 members.

"Bringing value to our members guides everything we do at the American Sportfishing Association," said President and CEO Mike Nussman. "We deliver all these new discounts, the best trade show, great venues for networking, advocacy on issues that affect sportfishing, and strong investments in conservation and angler recruitment and education."

Membership Director Ric Ice researched benefits programs of other major industry associations and forged new agreements with experienced companies to develop a comprehensive and versatile benefits package for the American Sportfishing Association’s membership. "We’re investing more resources than ever in member benefits and services," Ice said, "We’re listening to our members’ needs and simply making things happen."

Business Insurance: The American Sportfishing Association’s new partnership with Dale Longfellow Business Insurance Company (800-296-7985; www.businessquote.com) offers members a broad spectrum of business-related insurance options, including business insurance coverage, property insurance, retirement plans, group life insurance, and voluntary individual insurance.

Health Insurance: The American Sportfishing Association’s new agreement with HealthInsurance.com (http://asafishing.HealthInsurance.com; 877-886-0110) gives members competitive rates with a variety of carriers, and a host of options to fulfill individual and business needs for health and dental care. These include traditional major medical coverage, PPO’s and HMO’s, and medical savings accounts.

Shipping: Through a new partnership with Meridian One (for Fed Ex information, contact 800-599-2902; for the others call 800-636-2377), the American Sportfishing Association is putting the "ship" in membership! Members can take advantage of the 10-25 percent discounts on ground and home delivery shipping through Fed Ex and up to 50 percent off Airbourne Express, LTL freight service from Yellow and Roadway Express, and air freight delivery through Emery Worldwide.

Travel: Through the American Sportfishing Association’s partnership with E-Travel-4-Less (800-865-3398), savings of up to 60-70 percent are available for a variety of travel services. ASA’s website now allows shopping and booking travel needs on-line. Travel-4-Less offers savings on lodging at major hotels worldwide, such as Ramada, Days Inn, and Howard Johnson; car rentals; both domestic and international air fare; and cruises and vacations.

Credit Cards: The American Sportfishing Association’s new program with First Horizon Merchant Services (800-333-8336; www.fhmsi.com) gives members access to credit card accounts with the incredibly low rates of 1.59 percent and no monthly fees.

Banking: The American Sportfishing Association’s new partnership with Secure Payment Systems (888-313-7842; www.securepaymentsystems.com) allows members to benefit from discounts on check authorizations and electronic check conversion, discounts on transaction fees, and electronic gift card processing.

Teleconferencing: The American Sportfishing Association’s new program with Confertel, Inc. (800-804-8076; www.tele-conferences.net/ASA.htm) allows members access to superior teleconferencing features and voice quality along with savings of 20-30 percent. Members can even receive 5 hours of free teleconferencing when they sign up.

Printing and Display Design: The American Sportfishing Association’s partnership with Jack Ward Digital Printing (212-725-5200; www.jackward.com) offers access to the latest digital technology to produce brochures, posters, and catalogs at discount rates. And in cooperation with Joslin Displays (800-325-1030; www.joslindisplaysinc.com), a leader in retail sporting goods store design, members can not only benefit from this specialized expertise but also discounts on store fixtures, display materials, and seasonal decorations.
