The world’s largest sportfishing trade show returns to Las Vegas
The
world’s largest sportfishing trade show, the International Convention
of Allied Sportfishing Trades, better known as ICAST, returns to the Las Vegas
Convention Center, July 14-16, 2010. Produced by the American Sportfishing
Association (ASA), ICAST is the cornerstone of the sportfishing industry,
helping to drive sportfishing companies’ sales year round.
Nearly 7,400 people from 63 countries attended ICAST 2009, which spanned 400,000 square feet of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. In 2009, ICAST’s 52nd year, the New Product Showcase, the tradeshow’s flagship event, was more competitive than ever with 208 exhibiting companies entering 600 tackle products and accessories.
“We are pleased to be returning to Las Vegas for ICAST 2010,” said ICAST Director Maria del Valle Hamilton. “If you’ve attended ICAST in the last eight years, you’ve witnessed how powerful a venue it is for exhibitors and attendees alike. Come mid-July, Las Vegas will be the center of the sportfishing industry, and we welcome everyone to the convention center.”

ASA Welcomes the Fly Fishing Industry to ICAST 2010
In response to an announcement the American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) made that its board of directors is considering multiple options for a 2010 fly fishing industry trade show, ASA has invited AFFTA members, fly fishing retailers and the entire fly fishing industry to attend ICAST 2010.
ASA understands that many companies and organizations planning to exhibit at the fly fishing tackle trade show already have set their budgets for 2010. Consequently, ASA’s Board of Directors agreed that in 2010 ASA would accept current membership in AFFTA or ASA for companies who want to exhibit at ICAST. ASA also will honor AFFTA-member discounted booth fees for companies or organizations that are current AFFTA members and have exhibited at Fly Fishing Retailer at least once in the past three years. This offer applies to 2010. ASA will revisit its policy again in 2011.
Exhibitor Registration Opens in January 2010
Registration for exhibitors opens in January 2010 with attendee registration opening in mid- to late February. Registration can be found on the ICAST Web site at www.ICASTfishing.org.
Top Five Reasons to Exhibit at ICAST 2010
New Product Showcase—The New Product Showcase is ICAST’s flagship feature. Each year, the showcase grows in size, level of competition and prestige. According to the ICAST 2009 follow-up exhibitor surveys, 88 percent of respondents were satisfied with the quality of buyers who attended the show.
Media Exposure—Media attendance at ICAST has doubled over the past five years. More than 525 outdoor media representatives attend ICAST to assess and review what the sportfishing industry has to offer as well as to vote in the New Product Showcase.
Networking Opportunities—ICAST has a wealth of networking opportunities in addition to the show floor and is known as the place to jumpstart a new business. Sign up for space now to ensure that your business is front and center for the more than 2,300 buyers and 525 media representatives in attendance.
ICAST Buyers’ Guide—The ICAST Buyers’ Guide—both print and online—is the resource that buyers use at the show and throughout the year to guide their product purchases. Since June 2009, nearly 5,000 unique visitors have searched the online Buyers’ Guide and more than 5,000 ICAST 2009 Buyers’ Guides were distributed during the show.
