Potential Attendee: survey results

There was a disappointing response to the Potential Attendee survey. Only 13, or 2.6%, of the 500 potential attendees surveyed returned a survey.

The following responses are, therefore, provided for information only. The sampling is obviously too small on which to base any conclusions or recommendations.

• 50% of respondents indicated they did not attend ICAST 2003 due to timing—they were too busy in their stores in mid-July. However, 30% indicated timing was not a factor and 20% indicated it was only somewhat of a factor.

• 60% indicated they did not attend due to the expense involved.
• Only 20% indicated they didn’t attend because they could see everything they need at other shows.

If the decision is made to actively promote ICAST to these independent retailers, a second, more focused survey to determine the interests and concerns of these potential attendees is recommended.
