Last week, the House Natural Resources Committee unanimously advanced the Mitigation Action and Waterman Support (MAWS) Act.

Sponsored by @repsarahelfreth (D-MD) and @reprobwittman (R-VA), this bill would create a pilot program to incentivize watermen to harvest highly invasive blue catfish in the Chesapeake Bay, and build the infrastructure needed for a long-term market for the species.

ASA will keep you updated as the MAWS Act moves through Congress.
